Kate Mattison

Enjoy two hours of pure hot neon sugar with Kate Mattison, singer-songwriter and founder of celebrated NYC band 79.5.

Kate will take you on a heartfelt journey through her record collection, from obscure girl groups to her hero Todd Rundgren’s sonic experiments, from Japanese smooth jazz to backwoods country tearjerkers. She’s also not afraid to play the hits.

A New Yorker for over 16 years, Kate has performed, recorded and collaborated with dozens of artists, including Blitz the Ambassador, Durand Jones & The Indications, Elysian Fields, Chicano Batman, Lady Wray, Chances With Wolves and Lee Fields, in addition to writing and performing as 79.5. In 2019, her song “Terrorize My Heart” was nominated as Track of the Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards.

Kate lives in NYC, has a slobbery yet lovable dog named Columbo, aka “Bobo”, and supports and encourages womxn to take up all the space in the world.
