4 To The Floor Collective
4 To The Floor Collective present 4 To The Floor and Deep City Hustle, an alternating show twice a month on Wednesdays 10pm-12am. One show in the form of 4 To The Floor, the other in the form of Deep City Hustle!
4 To The Floor has seen the likes of Peven Everett, Boddhi Satva, Atjazz and many other key players in the scene through its doors. The radio show also offers a platform to explore a whole spectrum of music that is not focussed solely on the dance floor.
The Deep City Hustle show is hosted by Dan Tenor-City and Kengo Oshima, spun out of the 4 To The Floor Collective and the longstanding eponymous show they hosted.
Deep City Hustle hosts ‘criss-cross’ rhythms with soul — from synth boogie, steppers, heady funk, funk rock, Afro-this, Afro-that, to soul, 1st & 2nd generation disco, house-with-soul, AOR disco, fusion, and brash Latin and roots reggae.
Deep City Hustle is also a vehicle for connecting cities and people through the hosts’ friendships and networks, informed by a meta narrative of common histories and the hustle of city life — bringing London to Miami and vice versa, and similarly London–Rome, London–Tokyo…
Dan and Kengo are DJs, producers, and dancers in their own right, as well as performing together under the Deep City Hustle moniker. Both have been collecting music since the late eighties and can be found DJing at venues at home and overseas, as well as at festivals.
