Pete is joined by kindred spirit of Nick Godfrey of Precious Recordings of London. They share some rare archive recordings and celebrate the new Needle Mythology release ‘Sensitive’ which highlights the vanguard of 80s indie pop bands!
“The reason I love music as much as I do is that I was fortunate enough to grow up in a time when purchasing a record was both a financial investment and an investment of faith. By making the former, you were all in on the latter, determined to put in the hours to justify the outlay of your limited pocket money. When a record came with liner notes, I used to read them on the bus home from town, whetting my appetite for the experience ahead, rather like you might read the programme for the play you’re just about to watch. And if there were no liner notes, I’d read the lyrics, either before or as the record was playing. I still remember the overpowering sensation of hearing Aztec Camera’s We Could Send Letters for the first time,-… ” – Pete
