MOVING SOUNDS with James Heather – An Interview with Roger Eno (31/01/2024)
On this months edition of Moving Sounds, James Heather interviews Roger Eno about the tracks that have signposted his life and brought tears to his eyes, as well as some insights into his own. A fascinating, emotional but also occasionally laugh out loud funny interview. Roger talks about his love of Holst, and muses on him talking to the milkman whilst writing about the Cosmos. At one point David Gilmour from Pink Floyd calls him up during the interview, in what is a first for Moving Sounds. He talks about the advantages of having a sandpit in your house as a child, and why popular music is less of a puzzle in connecting to listeners. We hear about lessons in love from The Black Eyed Peas, an unexpected choice on the show and there were heartfelt tears about the state of humanity. It was insightful to hear Roger’s thoughts about longevity as an artist and approaching classical music from an unorthodox perspective.
