“Join me and members of Speakers Corner Quartet, Raven Bush (violin) Biscuit (Flute) Peter Bennie (Bass) & hear about how their musical journeys, with Kwake Bass (drummer & percussionist of SCQ) as a house band in south London at Jamm in 2006 to their debut album ‘Further Out Than The Edge’ in 2023, an Arthur Russell tribute at The barbican, and to their epic 2024 which saw them perform as part of Chaka Khan’s Meltdown and win the Ivor Novello award for Best Contemporary song ‘Geronimo Blues’ featuring Kae Tempest AND the soundtrack to the brilliant BBC series ‘Mr Loverman’ based on the book by Bernadine Evaristo (check it out on iPlayer!) Along the way we’ll hear some of their favourite tracks by Howard Shore and Kavinsky as well as a selection of cues from Mr Loverman and their album – plus we’ll hear a bit about their recent show at the ICA featuring musical robots!
