Bror Havnes x Durval Sounds (06/05/2023)
For this months travel diaries Bror Havnes teams up with local DJ collective Durval Sounds in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, one of the essential cities and states in the musical history of Brazil.
Durval is a cultural platform for valuing and rescuing Brazilian sounds. Based in Belo Horizonte, the project holds events with Brazilian music concerts such as Di Melo and Curumin, and DJs such as DJ Nuts, Dj Sleep and many local artists. You can follow the work through their Youtube channel, where they invite DJs to share their research through 1 hour sets playing only Brazilian music on wax.
For this session Bror Havnes and Durval Sounds goes back in time and plays all Brazilian music from the 1960’s to the 80’s.
