BALLANTINE’S TRUE MUSIC X SOHO RADIO GRANT

To mark the partnership with Soho Radio, Ballantine’s are awarding 2 x £5000 grants to emerging independent radio stations and record stores to fund projects which open up their space in music culture to be more diverse and inclusive. As part of this, we have a board that will select whom to award the grants. We also have a team that will help us review and evaluate all applications and decide which organisation receive each the grant.

Funding is given to organisations based in the United Kingdom. We strongly encourage applications that support under-represented communities.

The grant can be put towards various projects, however promoting diversity and inclusivity in music must be at the core of the grant recipient’s ethos.  As such the grant should be used in a way that opens up their space in music culture to be more inclusive.  Each proposal must highlight where the money would go, detailing how the grant will support them as an organisation and inclusivity within music culture.

Proposals will be reviewed by the panel of judges, scoring each one a score from 1-5 on the below factors:

• The extent to which the Entry fuels the motivation to make a positive change in the music scene
• The extent to which the Entry is supporting with making music culture more inclusive and/or representative
• The positive impact the Fund will have on the Applicant in improving their output as a radio station/record store
