Scene/Sounds feat. Kathleen Wallfisch (19/02/2024)
This month I’m joined by the fantastic music supervisor Kathleen Wallfisch to talk about her work on the latest Ridley Scott epic film Napoleon. Kathleen talks in depth about her path in the industry from a background to a musician to setting up a musician casting agnecy to then become a music supervisor.
She tells us about what it means to be an on-set supervisor and where her background in studing music history can really help when working on projects like The Great and Napoleon where authenticity is required within the music and the visual elements like instruments.
Alongside this we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the cult comedy film Blazing Saddles and we hear new music from Alex Weston’s score to Expats.
We also take a listen through to music from the new Netflix adaptation of One Day from Anne Nikitin, Jessica Jones & Tim Morrish as well as dipping into a preview of music from Hans Zimmer’s score to Dune: Part II.
