Scene/Sounds feat. Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (22/01/2024)
This month I’m joined by the fantastic composer Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch to talk about her score to the new movie All of Us Strangers.
Emilie chats in-depth about working with Andrew Haigh on the film’s soundtrack and how she created a sound palette to work on the beautiful narrative.
We also talk about the influence of her Grandmother and Bjork’s Homogenic on her compositions as well as discussing the skill of using restraint in writing scores.
Plus we have music from two previous guests on the show with Dominik Scherrer’s score to Boat Story and Volker Bertelmann’s score to One Life and a track from Lukasz L.U.C. Rostowski’s incredible score to the beautifully animatied feature The Peasants.
Lastly – as a celebration of the Werner Herzog season of films at the BFI we play some music from Popul Vuh’s scores to his films
