This month I’m joined by cult musician, actor and artist John Lurie to talk about his career from being part of the avant punk jazz scene in New York to creating his recent HBO show Painting With John.
John also discusses how he accidentally (and regrettably) created reality TV with his cult TV show Fishing with John where he goes on fishing trips with Jim, Tom Waits, Dennis Hopper, Matt Dillon, and Willem Defoe.
Plus we also discuss his recent show for HBO Painting with John – a surreal take on a Bob Ross style painting show – which has featured lots of John’s music from throughout his career alongside (excitingly) newly composed material.
As if this wasn’t enough we listen to new music from Oliver Coates from his great score to the new series Mary and George.
