MOVING SOUNDS – An Interview with Alex Ruder (KEXP/Hush Hush Records) (03/10/2021)
On this months Moving Sounds I am joined by Alex Ruder, founder of Hush Hush records and a DJ on KEXP radio in America, which includes his weekly 3 hour ambient show Pacific Notions. Alex was born in Seattle and has been tirelessly pushing new music for nearly 20 years now. We had a 2 hour chat about his life and he chose 8 songs that have signposted it. These include Boards Of Canada, Grouper, talking Night Buses in London and the music of Burial to the mysterious Lewis. His love of music is so infectious and I hope you enjoy this interview…
Moving Sounds is a show that connects spaces between classical, electronic, ambient, soul, jazz, drone, film soundtrack, folk, field recordings & other sounds from the past but mostly from NOW. If you like what you hear, please spread the word about the show and if you are an artist or represent one, however under the radar, please get in touch with James on Instagram on @jamesheathersounds to submit music.
