MOOF Magazine (11/06/2022)
MOOF Magazine is a psychedelic music and arts magazine with a penchant for the more obscure (in print and online). Founded in 2017 by student Melanie Xulu, MOOF covers a wide array of music, culture and art. The magazine has amassed a worldwide following and loyal readership and is currently stocked in the UK and USA. Inspired by the acid-drenched countercultural magazines of the 60s/70s such as Oz and Gandalf’s Garden, MOOF’s goal is to keep the underground press alive and weird.
Melanie’s work has been featured in Dazed & Confused, Atlas Obscura, The F-Word and more. With an almost obsessive passion for exploring and discovering the unknown in underground music, she has done all sorts, from researching and writing about the spoken-word witchcraft vinyl records of the 1960s to putting on a sleazy 70s porno music night.
Expect anything and everything from psychedelic folk, to occult rock, to experimental early electronic madness.
