Jocks & Nerds magazine brings its blend of culture and individual style to the radio with the assistance of Soho Radio.
Founded in 2011, Jocks & Nerds is an independent cultural lifestyle magazine renowned for its focus on true cultural pioneers and its in-depth, researched articles.
The radio show is hosted by Marcus Agerman Ross, alongside co-hosts Greg Boraman and Mark Webster. An invited guest joins the two hour show each month which consists of discussions on a range of topics revolving around music, the arts and fashion.
Music throughout the show is a careful curated selection of new releases lovingly researched by Greg.
Marcus Agerman Ross is the founder and editor-in-chief of Jocks & Nerds. He began his career in the late 90s at i-D magazine where he worked as the fashion editor. Since then, he has worked at Vice magazine and also as a creative director, brand consultant, copywriter, photographer and DJ.
Mark Webster is a journalist, presenter and broadcaster with over 30 years experience, first working as assistant editor at Blues & Souls magazine and as a contributor to GQ and The Face magazine in the 1980s. He has written numerous programmes for TV including My God, I’m My Dad but is most recognisable as a presenter having presented various sports programmes including hosting Channel 4’s NBA show.
Mark was Kiss FM’s first breakfast show host and his radio career includes stints at Jazz FM and XFM. Currently he presents shows for Talksport 2 and contributes to BBC 5 Live music show Virtual Jukebox.
Mark is also a contributing editor to Jocks & Nerds magazine.
Greg Boraman is currently A&R for Freestyle Records, home of Carleen Anderson, Omar and Brian Auger amongst others. Previously he worked at Acid Jazz Records and has worked at the BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC2 working on shows as diverse as the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show and the Culture Show. He also plays hammond and keyboards in the Fantastics!. As a DJ he has played all over the world, working with the likes of Roy Ayers, Shuggie Otis and Jools Holland. He also holds residencies at Spiritland and the BBE Store.
