Deeper Cuts with Karl Bos feat. Hiro Ama (15/12/2024)
Karl is joined live in studio by Hiro Ama, to chat about the producer and multi-instrumentalist’s beautiful new record Music for Peace and Harmony. Built around the sounds of an obscure 1980s Japanese synth called a Waraku, it’s a lush record, full of space and lingering melodies. Hiro picks out influence tracks from Pharoah Sanders, Steve Reich and Haruomi Hosono.
Hiro Ama is performing at the next Deeper Cuts night on February 6th at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney – celebrating jazz-ish music alongside Leeds folk-jazz septet Awen Ensemble, and Makeda on the decks.
Plus, Karl has new tunes from Knats, Auntie Flo, Phil Dawson, Adja, Anaiis, Iara Renno, Prepared, Tom Ford, Laurie Torres, Ruby Rushton and a modern-day epic by Ambrose Akinmusire.
