BarKino – Diego Medina Special (20/07/2020)
Pedro Montenegro was born in Rio de Janeiro and has always been driven by music. Before moving to London, two years ago, he was executive producer at Circo Voador, one of the most praised music venues in Brazil. He has also worked at two different labels, Bolacha Discos (Brazil) and Far Out Recordings (UK), as well as at Baratos da Ribeiro, a record shop in Rio, and promoted a few gigs there and here. Since March he’s been working with Gilles Peterson, archiving his records and radio shows.
BarKino focus is the recent Brazilian music production, but not just recent, and not just Brazil. As London, Brazil is made of people from all over the world, and this mix is what makes everything interesting, this mix is the future. Music is always a fantastic way to link everyone and gives this sense of oneness. That’s what BarKino aims: connection.
