The Saturday Sync
Tony Gleed is lost in music all day and all of the night and has been since he saw The Kinks on Top Of The Pops in 1969. Having hosted thousands of events and DJ’d in scores of London hangouts, Tony joined Soho Radio in 2015 to further his aims as The Tumescent Head of Sixth Form Humour at the Bugbear RocknRoll Highschool. With this in mind Tony feels obliged to blather on at length about all manner of musical lore and loves to play great records on the radio as some sort of recompense.
Bugbear have been booking turns since them dim distant days before you-doughnuts and i-bananas, most notably in the (resolutely proper) pub venue that is the legendary Dublin Castle, Camden Town, where Bugbear have run the show for a staggering 21 years.
During this time Bugbear have been instrumental in the early careers of artists as diverse as Muse, The Libertines, Travis, Amy Winehouse and Bastille.
The Saturday Sync is not a film show. The Saturday Sync is a celebration of that sweet spot where the moving image meets a cracking tune. Special guests present their Screenage Kicks and Cinematic Shakedowns. Enlightening interviews with all manner of sexy celebs and seers , and a righteous playlist chock full of eclectic, esoteric, essential selections. The sensational sounds of synchronization.
As of 2017 Cherry Red Records will be joining The Saturday Sync for regular bulletins on all that’s best in reissues and choice newbies from beneath the capacious Cherry Red umbrella, so lots of opportunities to hear connoisseur’s choice tuneage, generally clad in beautiful packaging and rendered with sumptuous sound.
