The House of St Barnabas
The House of St Barnabas is a unique, socially responsible members’ club where every penny of profit is used to fund the work of our charity, our Employment Academy. Our vibrant club, in a beautiful grade-1 listed house on Greek Street, brings together a community of members who are invested in creating a fair and equal society. Our Employment Academy works with people affected by homelessness to support them to find lasting paid work, a good home and a supportive network.
At Home with HoSB is a new concept borne out of the coronavirus crisis. With the House of St Barnabas’ doors temporarily, we wanted to find a way to bring a little bit of what makes the House special to our members and supporters. We’ve partnered with long-term friends of the House, Soho Radio, to bring the sounds of our resident DJs over the airwaves and into London’s homes.
Presented currently by Lulu Levan. Lulu Levan (also known as Dr. Lulu Le Vay!) is a professional DJ, academic, lecturer, journalist and author. Her playful brand as a ‘PhDJ’ combines her worlds of music and academia, as her love of music is just as prolific as her love for writing, education and research. Lulu has been a regular fixture at The Ned and across the Soho House group, as well as being long-term resident at the House of St Barnabas. She has also brought musical joy and high vibes to crowds at festivals such as Citadel, Lovebox and Bestival, and has been a regular at the infamous Pikes hotel in Ibiza. Lulu’s musical repertoire is fun, varied and eclectic, boasting disco, nu-disco, classic house, 80s electro, soul, funk, reggae, old school hip hop and R&B.
