Starting out behind two turntables at the age of 14, Michael Davies aka Miche, is a serial crate digger and DJ with a passion for all things that make you dance.
Once a resident and now at only 25 years of age, Head of Programming at London’s illustrious Spiritland audiophile venues, Miche enjoys nothing more than genre-spanning sets playing records from far and wide. As a radio broadcaster, he hosts a bi-weekly show on London’s Soho Radio delving further into all sides of his expansive record collection.
2019 saw him launch one of his most ambitious projects to date, his reissue label Discs of Fun and Love. The label’s focus is on modern soul, less on the hyper rare and more on the forgotten gems that are able to set dancefloors alight once more. The label’s first output is due October 2019.
Miche has seen a rise in demand for his work in the past few years featuring at some of the top spaces across Europe. Deep listening sessions at Kasheme in Zurich and Hosoi in Stockholm and both Spiritland venues. Playing the Hare and Hounds and the now-closed Rainbow Venues in Birmingham, hosting slots on Brussels’ Kiosk Radio and Paris’ Le Mellotron and also playing at Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here festival being personal highlights.
Whether on the radio or in the club, Miche is always illustrating his eclectic and vibrant tastes of music spanning across the globe: from Pharoah Sanders to Kerri Chandler, Brief Encounter to Os Originais De Samba – if it’s exciting and you can dance to it, will be played.
