D-Code

D-Code has always represented the alternative. His music has been heavily supported by both British and British Asian media: BBC’s Bobby Friction, Nihal, Zane Lowe, Hugh Stevens, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Nerm and DJ Kayper have all championed his music.

He’s toured nationally and internationally including numerous appearances at Glastonbury, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Love Box, and annual tours across India and the Middle East.

In 2007 Dee was appointed Head Producer for the video game DJ Hero which saw him collaborate with A-List artists including Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jeff and DJ Shadow. Dee was also featured as an artist (D-Code) in both DJ Hero 1&2 syncing his own original music to the game. He was also an ambassador who toured and performed at national and international events including E3, Gamesfest, Sonar Festival, Ibiza Rocks, Tiesto European tour and the MOBOs. Both DJ Hero 1&2 won awards including a BAFTA for ‘Best Use of Audio’.

Between 2007-2009, Dee presented specialist music show ‘In New DJs We Trust’ on BBC Radio 1. He also co-presented shows alongside Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Nihal as well as covering shows for Mary Anne Hobbs, Crissy Criss on 1Xtra and Bobby Friction, Nerm and DJ Kayper on the Asian Network.

Dee has also written and remixed music for UK independent films including Everywhere & Nowhere and The Comedown. His musical endeavours with East London collective Shiva Soundsystem have won awards including ‘Best Alternative Act’ at the Brit Asia Awards in 2010.

In 2011 Dee felt the need to try something new. From studying 60’s and 70’s Rock n Roll, sampling dusty guitar sounds and setting up a live recording studio, Driving Lolita was born. The band played their debut at The Nest in Dalston in November 2011 which quickly snowballed into a run of live shows around London. Their noise caught ears at the BBC who booked them to play the Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend in 2012 which kicked off a run of main stage festival gigs, an international tour and a Maida Vale session. In 2014 Driving Lolita released their debut LP.

In 2016 Dee decided to go back to his Drum & Bass roots by teaming up with his brother as D-Code & Psylence. So far, they’ve released music on Proximity Recordings, The Weird & The Wonderful and Times Music India together with remixes for Skint Records.

In November 2017 Dee joined Soho Radio presenting ‘The Remix’ on Friday nights alongside Eddy Temple-Morris, Leigh Dickson and Eden Blackman. Fast forward to today, Dee now presents his own show every 4 weeks on Friday nights between 10-midnight playing the best in Drum & Bass, cutting-edge BPMs and iconic classics with guest interviews and mixes.
